Re: Ford/Mazda Techs
The Escort GT motor is claasified as the BP. They have a BP-T which came out of the J-spec 323 gtx or gtr. The gtx has 180hp and the very rare gtr came with a 210 hp version. I only know of like 4 floating around the u.s. The lx isnt a very good base to swap it in, because you have to completly swap everything from a Escort GT. 4 years ago when I realized this I went and bought a gt and sold my lx for more then the gt cost me.
thebettersol- The us version gtx's got a 1.6l turbo which was the small brother to the 1.8
If you need any help let me know.

Re: Ford/Mazda Techs
The over seas version came on an awd platform, so they were used a lot for rally racing. When we finish the Bp-t on my boys gt, it should be running at least 13's hopefully. I haven't heard of any times on the B6T.

The easiest thing your friend with the LX can do is the SPI swap, which is the 2.0 from newer Escorts. It's the same engine as the 1.9 he has, but is considerably more powerful (relatively speaking, of course). It's basically a bolt in. To change to a 1.8 (which isn't even a Ford engine, as you know), he'll have to change the entire wiring harness from end to end. It would be easier to just buy an Escort GT. Older '80's EXP Escorts came with a turbo engine of same size, but the turbo and manifold off of those can bolt up to his current 1.9, or the SPI 2.0.
PM me or hit me up on AIM if you have any other questions. I'm a sick twisted fuck and know far too much about these pieces of shit.

[QUOTE=spic]You miss her, don't you?[QUOTE]
Nah I don't miss my Pos. I have moved on to much bigger and better things. I still have to deal with it, hence I know eveything about and the swap and my boy still doesn't have a clue. I have owned four at one time, I think we both know a little too much about these damn things. I sold it to him only, knowing my project would still get done but on his budget. It's in the paint shop now while the engine is still out. I still keep one around for daily driving, reliable little fuckers, but SLOW.

Yes. The engines were produced by Mitsubishi.

Will the 1.8L from the GT swap to the LX? If I do build her a turbo motor, will a RRFPR work without some type of MAF or fuel electronic fuel control? I'm not looking to get a huge beast amount of power out of this. If any thing, I will rebuild the motor and put a turbo on it, then in the car.
Spic, I will hit you up on AIM when I get a chance at work.
Thanks to all for the help.
