i agree with garn. how will a d16z6 block handle boost if it has low miles? right now i have to swap my bottom end because some water got into my intake and bent a rod so after thats all done im boosting it again with stock internals most likely.

use your money on a b series swap like an ls for 1000-1500 then buy a used turbo setup for like 1500 thats 3000 for more horsepower and it looks nicer than trying to build a d16

just sold my b series swap but its all good, i really try to stay away from used turbos since i have had problems with oil seels, wastegates locking up, i just want something solid. but i do agree b series can handle the boost and they look better. since im a cheap guy i guess ill have to wait a lil longer and settle with a t28. i just cant do a summer with no turbo, that makes the commute terrible lol. ive been told to stay with sohc to save the cash but all that money everyone is talking about is a lil out of my range for the time being.

blowing up motors in your car is not cool. not to mention potentially dangerous. oil, water and misc shit gets EVERYWHERE, its such a bitch to clean up.
d's suck because they are small and weak. they have small bores, long strokes and heads that flow like poo. aside from all that the rods are piss poor. but if you build the motor and replace everything sure itll hold more power.... but it will still never make the power of a B.
nonetheless people like to do there own thing.... so hey have lots of fun, but the cost of building a d is no less then a b.
