It did it for the past owner too he just notice the 5th gear clutchless "trick" so it wont grind. Tranny fluid was just replaced with honda OEM less then a year ago. Its not the worst thing in the world. I have learned to drive it around fine. I guess Ill just grab a different tranny down the road or rebuild this one.

Syncro replacements are generally pretty easy, they're just swapping sets of old parts with sets of new parts, shaft dis-assembly and re-assembly is the only fun part.
Might as well throw in a few new output bearings and output seals while you're at it too, just because you've gone that far already..
