It could be retarded also but it would have to be set back pretty far.........i would start by just putting the cams at TDOC of # 1 then put you crank at TDOC of #1.....it shoud have like a little mark on the crank pulley and that will line up with an arrow on the block, it is prob ont he right hand side of the pulley like upper left area, then just run you timing belt, tensionser side LAST and you should be able to fire it right up if evrything else is ok. Time it with a light after to set our ignition timing.

i checked inside the dist. when everything was set at TDC. The metal thing on the rotor is pointing towards the upper left spark plug, which I believe goes to cylinder #3. Should it be pointing to the lower left, #1?
