Re: GSR/ Type-R
go with the ls/vtec turbo. its the best bang for the buck IMO.
and i also agree 300+whp on the street in a honda is suprisingly fun.
my turbo gsr was type r turbo powered. and when i had it running right. would smoke both tires untill i let off. which was usually mid 3rd gear

Ok, it sounds to me like you do not have a lot of experience with honda, or automotive performance in general.
I think you should keep this build very simple because if you don't, you will definately spend more time working on your car than you will driving...
I would go with an Ls turbo in a 96-00 hatch (I like the body style, and interior better). Get a set of wiseco pistons, eagle rods, and a good set of head studs. An Ls with a nice turbo setup and some forged internals can get you easily upwards of 400whp. Not only will it have more than enough wheel horsepower, it will have enough torque to spin the tires rolling into boost in 5th gear... I have seen it
But just know that tuning is the key and without it, your car will blow up...

Re: GSR/ Type-R
Although, if you do a LS/Vtec motor. 81.5mm bore, balanced rotating assembly, golden eagle LS/Vtec kit(also I think you can get more plugs if your going turbo aswell, makes oil supply easier) and build the head.
