Hey, and another thing-if it's anything like a b20 or other Honda/Acura motors, there's a fan switch somewhere around the thermostat housing or surrounding areas on the block, maybe? I had mine go bad and the fan didn't work on mine until I replaced that switch. Stumped me cuz it threaded into the thermostat housing-I had to look it up cuz I thought it was the coolant temp sensor at first. Just another .02, no charge.

Therms dont cost a lot, so do that after you check out your wiring and relays. Its definitely not getting cool enough to keep the temp down on the block, especially at idle.

hahaha fixed the problem, easy fix, something i should of checked first!!! but i'm a dumbass so, turns out there was not a lot of antifreeze in it at all, so it was dry, and the fan switch has to have liqid touching it to activate the fan with the key on...and the fan working with the key off is just a feature on the accord. thanks for all the help.

The fan working with the key off isn't really a feature, because the fan doesn't really do anything without water circulation. So you just cool the water in the radiator core, which would be cooled in a matter of minutes just sitting there with no fan on. Plus it drains the battery.
