How much tire pressure?
I can't find any info on the suggested air pressure for my brand and size tire. The maximum is 44 psi.....i want to know if there's a good rule of thumb to follow as far as how much pressure to use in relation to the max pressure.
they were at 31 psi and looked a little low, so i bumped them up to 35 just on a guess. Any help would be appreciated....but please don't respond if you don't have a good amount of knowledge in relation to tires and tire pressure. i'm not trying to go to high or too low. my dad claims about 5-6 lbs. under the max is good, but i don't know how reliable that is.
thank you

Re: How much tire pressure?
Freshie... 44 is max when hot as shit. I run mine at 32 all around. GM acually calls for 30 cold.
In a "normal" car with a "normal" tire I've always used 35. You can feel the ride get worse as you go up from there.
At VIR last time I made the mistake of not airing down my Hoosiers and started at 37PSI... the car was scary, it was like ice skating... got in the pits and all four wer over 45PSI! Hoosiers like it around 40 when hot.

Re: How much tire pressure?
Actually the size really doesnt matter. The vehicle manufacturer suggest what the tire psi for that vehicle should be, not the tire company being those tires can go on various vehicles.
44 is the max pressure the tire can take until it creates a hazard.
