Speaking of forward progress, the factory service manuals tell you to look at the sight glass in the drier to see if the low pressure switch is giving you a false alarm or not...ok...great...but just what am I looking in the sight glass for?

You're checking to see if it's full of sight, of course.

You're looking for a flow of refrigerant through the glass usually. You'll see bubbles when you turn the system off, and it's hard to see much when the system is on because clear refrigerant looks like no refrigerant if there aren't bubbles in it.




If you see any weird streaky stuff in the sight glass that's usually a problem apparently (Google told me that).
