Most major problems, don't have anything to do with state inspection. ie: catastrophic problems with the powertrain. Instead of waiting once a year, you could make sure yourself, your not driving a haggard pos.

something like tie rods are a major issue to me but not a major issue in general, and i get super paranoid when i hear/feel/see something out of the ordinary. Pete at unlimited Auto knows all about me being paranoid when it comes to my car...
