it doesnt sound like yor battery is good. take it out and go have it tested at like an autozone. it sounds like the alt wasnt charging or the battery just wasnt taking a charge.
if the car is fine other then thenit needing a jump. something in the charging systemis probably bad.
one other thing which was already mentioned. check your connections at the battery. if your battery is corroded and there is toomuch resistance between the cable and the terminal you wont geta good flow if any
