Was told by a Honda-Tech mod that the JDM P73 doesn't look for: secondary O², EVAP, CKF or cat monitor. It ran with no CEL in the '92 Civic it was previously in. They used the Civic's OBD1 harness, chopped the distributor plugs and wired them into an OBD2 distributor plug, chopped the alternator plug for an OBD2 and the OBD2 injector plugs. Hardwired the VTEC plugs to the chassis harness.

Bull, It's a OBD2 ECU, the same ECU that is found in a USDM Type r. Try a P72 OBD1 GSR ecu and buy one of the Skunk2 harness conversion wiring harness.

It was in an OBD1 '92 Civic using the Civic's harness w/ OBD2 plugs using an OBD1-OBD2 jumper. Ran fine w/ no CEL. The car it's in now is OBD1 and using the same OBD2 jumper harness. Last time I checked the '92 Civic harness didn't have wiring for secondary o2, ckf or cat-monitor.

That's all good, the wiring is not wired for those sensors, but, the ECU is still looking for it. Try a OBD1 Ecu, see if that fixes it, If not try a OBD2 distributer with a OBD1-to-OBD2- harness.

I imagine if the crank sensor/ckf wasn't there it'd throw a check engine light on the civic. That and it would have run like ass. The car ran beautifully.

sure you have a JDM ITR ECU?

It would have thrown a CEL otherwise in the civic.
