eibach springs are $200. Koni makes a street shock thats $77 a piece. Of course its not going to be slammed or handle like it could but $500 isnt much.

and for that reason alone...maybe a ebay set of coilovers on stock struts would be just fine...then he could dump the 400 savings into the vw...

I have Eibachs on my stock struts and I'm very happy with the way it rides/handles... I'm not sure how much they run though...
