considering i open a store in a mall, and if i dont make it on time the job gets fined and then i get fired. i dont mind risking it. As soon as i heard the belt rip i dropped it to neutral and rolled into a parking lot. No harm done. My engine is fine. Everything is good on my car now. Crushed a valve... not even close. Motor to hot ..... not even close. As soon as it ripped like i said neutral and rolled into a parking lot

Went to advanced and bought a can of conditioner and used it on the belt/pulleys. Didnt hear the squeek till the next morning. After taking a better look under the hood i saw that the belt was halfway on the pulley. I had no time to fix because i had work in 15 minutes. I started to work and about a half mile down the road the belt shreads and im sitting in a parking lot. After getting it to my mechanic he finds that the squeeking was coming from my ac belt that was also shreaded. Water pump was almost busted and timing belt was shreaded. I got a pretty good deal on the work ( $350 ) including the tow. Thought this would help if anyone came across the thread and was having the same problem.

Also can anyone let me know how much a harmonic balancer runs for a 95 civc ex and what the labor time would be....

MUCH APPRECIATED

yea cuz a belt almost off the ribbed crank pulley couldnt possibly be off a tooth. oh and a failed water pump would still help cool the ~500*+ motor sufficiently right? my bet is you were still late if you left for work 15minutes early then waited on a tow/ride. but hey your right, next time drive faster and the belt will reverse itself back onto the crank pulley and you will be just fine.

By your first post are you attributing the belt failure to a bad harmonic balancer? Usually you will be able to visibly see the pulley wobble if its bad.
