you can use 4 equaly spaced big hose clamps and tightn them down equaly and it will compress it trust me it works
or just take them to a shop

just take the tophat bolts off before jacking the car up, while springs are still compressed, the jacl car and springs will uncompress slow as the car goes up, take shot assembly out, install new spring install shock line everything up and lower car put bolt back on tophat.

fuck it i cut the springs then remove them i wont need them any more anyways i make nice wind chimes out of whats left over from the coils

thanks for all the replies, still not sure as to how to go about this... Not afraid to do any of these, I just heard lots of rumors about bolts breaking etc. and replacing shit on the rear cause they usually break when doing this type of work... But my major problem is getting the hat off... On the fronts i stripped the allen wrench part...I think i turned it instead of my wrench...lol, any suggestions on that ... also have a thread on my LS swap please read

yea if your really tryn to do it with a allen wrench and a box end wrench just stop its not gona go very well zap it off with a impact gun o and when you take the struts off the car you will probbaly brake the lower strut bolt its ok it happens all the time

okay, so i shouldn't even use the allen wrench?...I should just use an impact and do it quick...? and what do i do about the brokn bolt when it happens?
