ls tranny is good for boost because of the longer gearing. si and gsr type r have short gear spans so you will go through the rpms faster. my brother has a ls tranny on his b16. its all stock and its slow as balls. the ls is good for daily driving but if you like to have some fun on the streets then a short geared tranny will be better for you.

if you're N/A get a b16 tranny. just make sure your exhaust is quite so you don't get hassled by cops. my teg has a ls/vtec with a B16 tranny and it is ANNOYINGLY loud on the highway.

Get either a GSR Transmission, which is.......well guess what? Geared for the GSR engine!
or a b16 transmission if you aren't going to boost. My favorite transmission for boost is GSR because the fifth gear isn't as long for those long runs

well i just bolted up that ls tranny. i like it alot better than the GSR. the gears are longer and it feels like im getting more power out of my gsr motor. But i guess it depends on what kinda of drive style you have.

I liked it in my turboed gsr. I think I wiould even like it in an NA GSR just because of gas milage. I hated being at such a high rpm doing 65mph. Even with a turbo though I could still tell it was a little slower, not really by much though.
