i was wonderin the samething. My friend took his block to the machine shop and they measure for the biggest clearance and shave/polish the crank so each journal use the same size bearings, think get fittted bearing is less time and money. Lmk what happen cause i might go ACL route too

9 times outta 10 if there wasn't a problem with the components to start with the std. acl bearings will clearance out to spec. most all of the dohc vtec engines will contain all like matching browns or greens just for example across the block in each cylinder. but any respectable engine builder will pay attention to the engine in detail and use his best judgement in this department. hondas do come "select fit" and should be noted closely, if you have a brown, green, yellow, pink then yes machining would be in order but if you have all like colors then i would assemble, plastigauge, dial caliper the bitch and call it! hope this helps you!!
