the 3s head is bolt on but if I remember correctly you will need to modify the water pump, im not sure on anything else. what kind of power are you looking to get?

when I started my 3sgte build I was going to go with a 5sfte build but after looking at how easy it was to get to my 450hp goal ( with a little help from e-85) there was no need to do the fab work when I could make it with out it.

In your case since your doing a celica (front wheel drive) you might want to rethink the 5s build since it wont produce any more power then a built 3s just more torque.

the main reason for a 5s build is you have a shit ton of money to spend on a setup and want it to make over 700hp.

If you really want some info pm noshoes. Im sure if he sees mr2 he will eventually make it here.

heres his website. http://noshoesspeedworks.com/
he can tell you everything you need to know about anything on a 3s

cheap is what you make it 3sgte's are cheap in a way. but engine swaps arnt. You might want to save up A lot more money for anything that may go wrong during the swap. maybe.. 1k. I had the same though when doing my mustang swap but It ended up costing me more money then I planned. Instead of 16 hours for the swap it took me a month. It was still worth it tho.

just do a crap load of research. learn this in's and out's of the swap and the engine . It may take you a longer time to get the swap done but you will thank yourself when you come to those"wtf is this and what does it do" moments and you know exactly what to do. hell I spent 5 months looking at turbos and primers for my mr2 before I bought anything and I still think I should have waited. It was worth it tho.
