If it bounces the box at 7500, your tach is 300 rpm OR 4% inaccurate. Mine is close to the same, but when the car is on the dyno and you get an accurate RPM reading you will see the difference.
Also, I know for a fact that the stock cam in a d16 will not be able to pull an adequate amount of air to make power any higher than 7300-7400rpm.
For a few weeks (the worst few weeks of my life) I ran a setup with a ported y8 intake manifold, AEBS 68mm throttle body port matched to the IM, SRI, DC 4-1 header, and catless 2.25" exhaust. The stock head will not be capable of pulling enough air at just under 7400rpm and you will feel a noticeable dip in horsepower. I made a total of 133whp.
Also, I set the rev limit at 7400 rpm in the ecu, and the tach would still go past 7500 on the scale.

Excuse me, 2500 is what I meant. I mis-typed.
My 1996 ex coupe weighs 2495, full interior, with the driver (myself). Weighed at VMP in November. Because of transmission issues I ran a 13.4 @109 and a 13.2 at 94 (no they are not backwards). My best 1/8th was an 8.5 @ 90 (this was my 13.2 pass)... I was running street tires, and my best 60' was a 2.2..
It was not my info that was twisted it was the "2" and "3" on my keyboard.

Ya it wasnt bad for a stock IHE sohc. But one night I was out with a friend of mine who drives a DA ls teg, also IHE with a b18b swap (stock ecu was his downfall). We raced from a dig and we both lost. lol
It was like the whole race was in slow motion and nobody was pulling.. lol
