Default Removing rusted-in suspension bushing

The rear bushing on the left front lower control arm of my '94 Camaro has failed. I persuaded the bushing bolt out and got enough disconnected to twist the bushing clear, but the old bushing is rusted/welded in place and wailing on it with a hammer isn't doing much (not that I have a lot of room to swing). I've got it soaking in PB Blast right now, but was looking for advice on how the #@^@# to get the old bushing out of the LCA. Tips? How've ya'll gotten similar parts off?

use a puller if you have one or can get one, that or take the control arm off completely and use a press

And if you can't use a press, you'll have to burn out the rubber and cut the sleeve in two places. You should be able to pry it out after that

Thanks, guys. I just grabbed a loaner puller from the advance auto around the corner, but I don't have enough clearance to get it in. I'm going to try a few tricks before removing the control arm completely, though.

The best thing to free up rusted shit is half and half of ATF and Acetone. For that, I'd probably pull the whole control arm off and press it out.

the easiest (and smelliest) way is to get a torch and burn the rubber out. Then cut the metal sleeve with a hack saw blade or air saw. Just be careful to only cut the sleeve. Then put the new one in.

Did this to ALL of my honda bushings in my suspension.

Fire extinguisher. Right by the fender.

I watched an idiot try to torch his own car once. Hit it with about three cans of PB Blaster before he decided to burn out the rubber.

PB is flammable, JIC.

I'd just remove the control arm
