sc400 manual transmission?
ok so this most likely has been posted up, but there is a rumor going around saying that a company in Australi made a manual transmission for the stock v8 sc400. if so do they have a web site or anything. i've tryed to search to see if the rumor was true but got off track. thanks.

Re: sc400 manual transmission?
I wouldn't be surprised if someone made an adapter plate to use a readily available manual tranny with that engine. That's a fairly common thing to do. You'll probably need to replace the front section on the driveshaft (from the front joint forward) with something that has the correct spline pattern for the new tranny.
This really depends on what tranny is being used though, because if the new tranny is something like a Supra tranny there may be enough common parts to make it pretty easy. I don't know much about your specific car, just what generally has to happen for tranny swaps like that.
You may have to get a hybrid clutch too, using the pressure plate/flywheel from your engine and a friction disc that is splined for the new tranny.

Re: sc400 manual transmission?
Are you looking to put a 1UZ in a 240? I am asking because of your screen name.
A guy did one into his 97 S14, he fabbed up his own mounts and made an adapter plate for the stock KA transmission so he could keep his stock driveshaft and everything. I believe for the clutch he used part MR2 and part something else random. You can search for it on google.
