Very possible ill check that.. I felt like the harness is pretty much dummy proof but I guess not

That's a horrible shortcoming on Honda's part. The first rule of designing something like that is to idiot-proof it so the plugs can't be mixed up. It doesn't matter if it's mechanically keyed or just color keyed/matched, something should have been done.
