It sounds to me like your pushing too much oil across the shaft like Fabrik8 said. As for the seal, it may or may not be ok, i'm guessing no though. Could you give some sort of description of how bad it smokes exactly?

The turbine housing was soaked in oil so you can imagine. I don't really know how to really to describe it. Do you think another restrictor might help...perhaps solve the problem, or would that just be a waste of time. I have another one laying around that I could use.
