smoking problem.
so i just got a 93 civic hatch with a mini me swap in it and its smoking... the guy i got it from said its valve stem seals butt i went to an actual mechanic and he said when the seals go out it only smokes when it starts up and he thinks it could be the piston rings.
it starts smoking around 2000 rpms. its a light blue smoke. ive pulled all the plugs out and their all bone dry. im just trying to narrow it down before i go fixing shit thats not broke.
i really dont need sarcasm, im just asking for help.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: smoking problem.
Probably rings. Like the mechanic said, usually leaky valve stem seals will only leak enough oil to smoke after the car has been sitting for a while. They'll leak all the time, but only enough oil will build up after sitting, and enough won't leak constantly during running to be noticeable. You have to have some really leaky (or missing) stem seals to make visible smoke.
