and they are actually $6.09+tax each from honda

actually the 70mm length from honda is made to screw into the weld nut on the factory and most aftermarket shocks. If your shocks do not have these weld nuts you can just screw a 12x1.25 nut on it and torque to spec and call it a day. Plus factory bolts are beveled at the end to make installation easier.

you could use a steel rod with collars

dowel rod

a bunch of tooth picks

other peoples fingers

an extension

pens and pencils

so you're waiting for someone to tell you something better than buy from honda or a bolt of equal strength?
