thinkin about getting a civic

Re: thinkin about getting a civic
anything you do to a 92-95 civic coupe is going to be done way more than the k swap. These cars are easy to swap, and parts are overabundant, its pretty cheap and somewhat easy. But i say keep it clean, lower it reall nice dont go cheap on suspension, and do a simple rebuilt b18 swap. If you buy one already done up def. go for something like illegals car, or plan on going through the whole thing over again to clean everything up. Good luck either way.

i have a 95 LS in my 94 hatch and i love it. i personnaly am not a fan of b16s because i feel they dont have enough torque. but thats just my opinion

Re: thinkin about getting a civic
Are you looking for a basic, reliable street car? Something that looks good, performs good, and doesn't break the bank?
92-95 Coupe shell
LS/GSR motor (depending on money you want to spend)
Basic bolt-ons (intake, header, exhaust)
Nice comfortable interior
Nice suspension (Full Skunk2 Pro series are a little stiff on EG's)
ASR with Type R rear sway
Set of Rota's with good tires
There is a nice simple list of stuff to do. Won't break the bank, and will leave you something nice to drive.

Re: thinkin about getting a civic
yeah. ive heard that too. the B16s dont have enough tourqe. i think id have a problem with that tho. my cb7 has more tourqe than a civic. lol. so im sure id end up doing a B18 swap into my civic if i got one.

but the whole 92-95 civic (hatches, coupes, four doors, and delsols) are all commonly refered to as EG civics
theres even a myspace page and website made specificly for EG civics only

Re: thinkin about getting a civic
well if any of yall are looking for a EG hatch then let me know. my friend has one for sell. already has a B18(non-vtec) swap, nitrous ready, BFGoodrich radials, and a VTEC head in the trunk. no title tho. ill make a thread about this when i get some pics. i wold get it but he doesnt have the title.
i dont think id get the Tien tho. they never looked like they would give me a drop that im looking for. if i did get Tien then id get the full coilover set up with the controller that goes with it. i need something with a 2" drop or more. i chose Skunk2 b/c on most of the lowering springs they have, they give a 2" drop or lower.

Re: thinkin about getting a civic
yea, first you have to think about your plans for the car..
dd
autocross
weekend drag
etc..etc..
then its just a money situation..
how much money do you want to put into it...
ls/b16's are rather cheap..
gsr/type r are higher end
and sounds like k series is a def no go
but if your just looking for a decent daily driver with a little more power..
jus get you a ls longblock,b16trans and few boltons...
then later you atleast have a good platform(1.8l) and you can build that and slap a vtec head on it and go from there...
if you need any help finding parts please give me a call,
