throttle problems
So I'm at beir garden and shit but on the way here my car would not stay alive. It has thrown a cel for the tps before and I reset it without problem. I would push the gas to the floor and the pedal would feel heavy and it kept stalling out. Sound like the tps? I have it at home and can unscrew it and replace it but does it need adjustment?

Re: throttle problems
So are you getting no throttle response at all or is it that the car won't idle. If I wasn't at work I'd require this to be talked about at the Beir Garden...
There's a couple sensors that could effect idle (not sure of the nomenclatures on the Camry)... IAC (idle air controller), MAF (mass air flow) are a couple more that will screw with idle / throttle response. To test the TPS, you check it's voltage and compare it to whatever it's supposed to be (at no pedal and at WOT)... Dunno how you see that w/o a scan tool of some sort... If you know where the sensors are at, you can try giving them a little love tap or two w/ a screwdriver or something... sometimes that will get them right temporarily....
Wish I was more helpful, but I only mess with my GN.. I don't play with my Toyota....

Re: throttle problems
TPS should be easy to check... Should only be three wires... black and two others .. I'm not sure which is which.. turn the key to ACC, then put your black lead on the black wire. Put the red lead on one of the other two... you should have some sort of low voltage here (for me, it's like .4 or thereabouts).. then manually move the throttle to WOT and you should see your voltage increase.. (for me it's about 5v)... Try the other wire if you get nothing off the first....
I'm just spitballing here... but since everyone got drunk and passed out after Uno's today, I'm all that's standing...
Serious about the little tap to the sensor though... sometimes that will help...
