then he had a bad turbo. almost all of the turbos in garret's lineup can be boosted to 32+ psi. it depends what airflow and shaft rpm that boost happens at but.....
17psi is not something that will hurt ANY turbo on the market. unless that boost pressure causes compressor choking at high shaft rpm/high airflow.
