hey can i put a gsr or type r timing belt on a b20b or do i need to change the water pump out or can it be done at all?

I might be wrong but I think that the timing belt depends on the water pump that is used. If you use an LS water pump then use an LS timing belt ect.

i think you are talking about the head. if you use the b18c head you use the timing belt, b16 head b16 timing belt. if you are switching the head then you might as well get the water pump for the head also.

Timing Belt
Although the LS timing belt will fit, upgrading to the more efficient VTEC water pump is a good idea and in doing so, a timing belt from the '94-'01 Integra GS-R is required. The VTEC water pump pulley has 22 teeth as opposed to the 19 found on the LS version, thus requiring the longer belt. The B16A timing belt will not work with either water pump due to the fact that those blocks are about 8mm shorter than the 1.8-liter versions
