you can also hook a test light, or DMM up to the solenoid harness...and set it up to where you can see it when driving..usually, put it under a windshield wiper. then, drive the car, and see if test light comes on, or you have voltage at the solenoid. this is the simple version of the test....if you dont know what im talkin about....pm, or aim me...i will be home later..at work now...

it might be a wiring problem, i ran through a big puddle a few months back, it got some wires wet i dried them off and shit, the day before i didnt drive my car for 3 weeks i got an oil change..but yesterday my vtec was enguaging on and off
