vtec turbo question

Re: vtec turbo question
i love when you question me!! it makes easy sense if you stop and think about it. most vtec motors have and "uncontrolled" amount of air when vtec kicks in. the cam lobes are so odd, boost spikes have been known to occur, thus the reason for crossover smoothing. i am sure someone else here on this site has seen it before.

Re: vtec turbo question
Im not into honda that much but someone told me that when you turbo a vtec that you loose vtec. But when you supercharge it that you dont.
Im very sure thats not true considering that the vtec solenoid is going to run and operate normally from the ecu no matter what form of boost you are using since it wired to run from the ecu.
Is this correct?

Re: vtec turbo question
And it wasn't a 35r. It was a tractor trailor turbo. It was on Gs-R cams but teh head was ported. It was only on like 7psi if that.
But the car pulled hard for what it was. There are videos of it somewhere.

Re: vtec turbo question
The motor Jarrod is talking about made 270WHP on 4lbs with 12:5:1 comp. on gsr cams and a minor port job. The car was sold to an idiot and ripped apart, the motor never blew up.
P.s. FoR the record it was a rear mount setup.
