Default VW Golf Issues

Working on a friends 2.0L 2003 VW golf. I recently did a timing belt+water pump on it as the pressed on plastic impeller failed.

She asked me again to look at it so she can get it inspected. As such, it's throwing the following codes;

1.) Primary Circuit Malfunction
2.) Secondary Circuit Malfunction
3.) Coil A Failure
4.) Coil D Failure
5.) Coolant System performance

Currently, the check engine light is on as well as the airbag light. When her water pump impeller, a shop mis-diagnosed it as a coolant temp sensor so they replaced that. From my research, it seems that these cars are very temperamental at having to get to temp quick or they'll throw a code. Should I replace the temp sensor again? I changed the thermostat when I did the water pump as well.

I have no idea why the airbag light is on, but that's preventing it from being able to pass inspection.

Thanks,

Joe

For the coil A and D failure:

Switch them around with the other two coil packs and see if the code goes to those cylinders instead. If it does, then you have a faulty coil.

The airbag light is most likely on for the clock spring in the steering wheel.

Rgr on the clock spring - I'll change that.

Unfortunately its not coil on plug, rather one unit

Meh - $200 from mexi-zone. It just has the *slightest* of a miss at idle, probably drops like 20 rpm every 4-5 seconds. I'm gonna try and disconnect the battery to clear the ECM and see if the codes pop back up.

Which primary and secondary circuit does that usually refer to?

I'm gonna throw a Vag-Com scanner on it at lunch so I can offer more details. I was just giving what she provided me.

As far as the airbag light, I just talked to her, she mentioned something in the door? The dealership wanted $500 to replace it.
