the cheapest motor for power is the h22....any other motor with as much hp is atleast 2k more (type R) not to mention the torque numbers on the R arent close to the H....theres always K series for like 5k.......

But, after the swap is done and you have bought all the things you are supposed to with no short cutting. The swap then becomes quite pricey. Whereas with a simple ls there isnt much extra stuff to buy. Of course the h22 would destroy the ls stock for stock, but thats not what we're talking about. We were talking about which is cheaper. And the LS, when its all said and done, is cheaper.

lemme break it down for you....
H22:
2K for swap w/lsd
$500 to $800 for install into an EG..involves removing the passenger mount and wiring
$500 Hasport H22 mounts
$300-$500 for alxes depending stage and brand
=so your looking at something around $3,600
But you have stock motor that can run high 13's to low 14's depending on car and driver with plenty more potential and ive seen stock h22 with bolts in the 12's( on slicks)
LS motor=
$1,200 avg for swap
mounts and axles- stock included in swap price
install- 200 up to 500- but can be installed in your own garage-pretty easy swap
so in the end you will have paid around $1,500 for a stock LS motor that will run mid 15's that you could be running with your EX with bolt on's, dont get me wrong LS motors can fast, ive seen turbo LS's make 400-500 whp on semi built motors that are dialy driven but in the end its all up to YOU
I personally am going H22........Good Luck
