Not sure on welding really.. The guy that welded it did a decent job but I found "sticks" left over that i had to break off in a few places.. All I know of is TIG/MIG really.. don't know how it works..

here is a pic of the manifold.. yea i know, its a log manifold, not the most efficient, but the only thing that would fit in my case and keep AC, and not cost $500+

damn garn, and i thought 3rd gen owners were the only ones who used jimmy rigged log manifolds. hahaha

that is MIG welded. the "sticks" you found was wire.


if someone got part of a stick from stick welding stuck...its 3/16"....and it doesnt leave little pieces.


basic:
TIG-clean looking, very even bead, great penetration. little to no spatter
MIG-decent bead, depending on shielding gas is how much slag/spatter you have
Stick-lots of slag that must be removed with slag hammer. also used mainly on thick metal. real hard to do on sheetmetal.

ahh i gotcha.. good so MIG isnt to bad for mild steel then right? I guess I would like to keep it all MIG then lol.. I want it to blend in well, the new weld spot that is..

That would be awesome

I'll go ahead and plan on bringing it.. I'll just mark on it where the hole is with an arrow.. follow the line! hehe..
