Default Blacksburg snow (VT)

Just wanted to know what it's like in the winter time as far as snow. If I end up going to school there should I take my supra or buy another subaru? Anyone have a supra/RWD car there and able to survive the winter?

You get maybe 1-2" a year, but everyone acts like you are getting 3 feet.

it sucks.

don't be worried about the snow, be more worried about the wicked fucking winds that gust through there. i'm not even kidding. it's windy as shit and that makes it cold as shit. snow is moderate, but the wind makes it shitty.

So true.

The snow isnt bad when we have it. its the Icy shit that sucks. This will be my first winter spent on top of the mountian since I moved this spring. Thankfully I'll just call in if it snows to bad seeing as I would have a snow plow for a vehicle.

Yeah this ice is what makes it bad. I have my 240 up here and it's drivable, but I take the bus most of the time in the winter because I don't want to chance it.

honestly though, unless the weather just shits on blacksburg with lots of snow. the Main roads are kept pretty clean.

the side roads on the other hand, watch out for the ice.

Everyone else is correct, worry about the ice, not the snow. Anyway, if you're at VT, just ride the bus.
