I got pulled over for the third time today for no front plate. I know I should just get smarter and put one on there, but I don't like how it looks. I didn't get a ticket for no front plate but the cop gave me a stupid ticket for illegal muffler or soemthing even tho mine looks really stock. What's the deal with the front plate tho, is it okay as long as it's on the front of the car somewhere? I'm thinking about zip tieing it to my front lip which is technically still part of the front bumper, does anyone know the actual law for it?

just needs to be displayed somewhere on the exterior front of ur car (not in the front windshield)

i have mine ziptied to my front grill on my body kit b/c i got pulled for having it in the windshield ($72 ticket)

I got pulled over yesterday on campus by the same cop that pulled me over on campus last time.

THis is my 5th time for no front plate....no ticket though

I've been pulled by the same cop in two different instances, once by a cburg cop, and yesterday by a tech cop. Guess it's time to get it on there.

Just somewhere up front that the plate can be seen in full. Got a ticket in Radford a few months ago.

Funny...

NO FRONT PLATE: $70 fine
URINATING IN PUBLIC: $45 fine.

Yea I'm going to have to do some sorta custom plate install once this FMIC goes on. I'm cutting off the lip of the bumper that the plate's bracket is bolted to, so first off there arent any mounts for it anymore, and second I just wont want a damn liscense plate blocking the pretty core. Seriously though, I dont see why we need a front plate, unless you rob a bank and drive in reverse to get away I just dont see how itll help authorities.

i think the license plate is where cops like to aim the radar.

there was some serious effort to get rid of the front plate requirement in va 1.5 year ago. i hope it flares up again.

One of the arguements that I heard for having a front plate was that if a description goes out on a car used in a crime (say a robbery), and an officer sees a car matching that description parked in a parking lot, but it's backed into the space. The officer then has to get out of the car and walk around, only to find out the plate doesn't match. The officer has now wasted time by getting out, where he could have just driven by. Meanwhile the actual car is now another 2 miles away.

Personally, I would rather not have a front plate. I've been pulled over for not having it, and finally decided that I didn't want to deal with it, and put it back on.
