What's the nearest track to Lynchburg? Is Shelor closer? I heard there's a track near the 'burg that's mostly uphill...
And I still feel we need a 1/4 mile track closer than Richmond.

I'm not sure where you live, but if you live in or around lynchburg (or where ever) you should also consider New London as well. The drag strip will be up and running this season

Shelor is about 2hrs
NB is about 45min to 1hr
New London is 20-30min depending on what side of lynchburg you live on.

Shelor seems to hook a little better. Not quite as good from a spectator viewing standpoint. BTW some of us are going up to Shelor Friday for test&tune is anyone is interested.

Re: Naturual Bridge vs. Shelor
If any of you have been on Shelor Dragways website you will have noticed that they just purchased 9 more aches of land at the end of the dragstrip.
Sounds like a possible 1/4 dragstrip in the future. That will be nice. That could bring some extra entertainment into the area. Maybe even NHRA, IHRA, etc sponsored events.

MOTOR MILE DRAGWAY ANNOUNCEMENT
RADFORD, VA - We have purchased an additional 9 acres of land at the end of the dragstrip which gives us the option of creating additional parking areas and extending the track if necessary. No final decision has been reached regarding these changes at this time. We will keep you posted.
