^ wow thats really cool
my roomate, when i lived in brooklyn, was a street vendor who sold bowls and bongs and whatnot on the street. looking at how much work goes into one, i'm amazed at how cheap he got his products! how much time does it take you to make one? and how much do you usually sell them for?

It took me about 45 minutes to make that one, but that was working slower for the sake of pictures, and saying "here, take a picture of this" when I needed him to.
It usually takes me 20-25 minutes for something that size.
As for selling, I don't discuss that on the internet. Nothing personal, but with items like that you get into sort of a gray area with legality and things like that. However, if anyone wants to discuss any topics in private via PM or e-mail, I can oblige...
There are a lot of imports out there these days (some even made well) which sell for cheap. That could be where your roommate got his. They can be had cheaply. The problem is most of them aren't annealed, so they run the risk of breakage. But, bigger pieces are where the money is anyways. Not little things like I'm making in that demo.

They are pretty easy as well. Take a tube (like I'm using in the first one) and open one end. Get it hot and flare it open like a funnel. Draw the design, close it back down, and shape.
If you're ever in the area, drop by and I'll show you how it's done...

btw, I'm hoping to stop by tomorrow night and you can show me some tricks of the trade.. If I think about it, I'll grab the camera out of my car and bring it in to put it on the charger when I leave for work.

We're teaching a 3 day class at Radford University the rest of the week, and we're going to Asheville Saturday and Sunday. We'll be back up and running next week though. Let me know when you want to stop by...
