Re: Restaurants in Roanoke
I thought it was supposed to be classy Mexican? Heh.... Nevermind. I just thought about what I said.
I hadn't heard anything about it other than the fact that it was supposed to be nice, but haven't heard anything since they opened. What did you get, if you don't mind my asking sweet cheeks?
What else are they opening over there? Lots of new buildings from the looks of it.

I got a taco plate with steak done medium rare. The steak was very tender but the whole dish didn't have the flavor I am used to. Alot of their stuff has a spicier taste then most mexican dishes I have had. Seems like they try and use spicy to cover up and make up for the somewhat blandness of their food as a whole.
I've eaten at alot of mexican restraunts across the nation and I can say that as a whole I honestly prefer El Rodeo over anywhere else I've eaten as far as mexican food goes. Abuelos does however have a very nice looking building and such. Seems more of a shock and awe approach to food then anything else.
How am I supposed to know what they are opening up over there? I am hardly in town anymore haha. And you're still a knob gobbler.

there's also Luigi's over on Brambleton.some of the best food ever(get the stuffed mushroom to start, and some kind of steak for your meal).relatively expensive, but just looks like any old hole in the wall eatery-that's why i did't mention it before.the appearance doesn't match the food or price.

What about Trio or Stevens (however its spelled)?? I've heard decent things about those places... I'd say find a member of the Shenandoah Club and get them to set up a dinner in the main dining room there.. lol.. decent food, personal service.. and odds are you'll be me only table in the dining room.. talk a bout getting to know someone better...
