Thats the way the ones I took out were. Couldn't just throw it in neutral coming to a light without the fear that she would stall.

I use to enjoy that, now I realize how miserable it is to try and drive it frequently.
272's in it now and it purrs steady at 1k rpm, no fluctations greater than 50-75 rpm.
It's great. Actually picked up some power and gained some knock deterrent.
