You have to make some power first before you need a better built transmission.

And it be a pain in the ass. I dont have the time nor patience to build a car. We've seen time and time again on this forum how that goes...I'll let a company like Active Autowerke do it for me. I also prefer to drive my car and get use out of it, rather than it sit in the driveway for weeks at a time. Yours may be holding up fine, but remind me, what do you do for a living? I'm a full time college student, I wish I had the time to work on my own shit.

I may only have ~450whp but thats nothing for a BMW Getrag tranny...you do know it's the same type as the Supra tranny (BMW Getrag as well)... 800whp+ LULLZZZ @ power

I'll have traction issues long before I ever have tranny issues. Even BMW's SMG trannys with upgraded clutches are holding 850whp....what do ya know bischess.

But I was just poking a little fun as some of you guys speaking of $2000-8500 trannys, f that haha

sorry, I wasn't trying to be rash or insulting, just poking fun like everyone else.

Getrag is a seperate company, BMW doesn't own them that I'm aware. Getrag makes the transfer cases for the evo's, tis why you cannot get parts, they don't sell just parts, only whole units.

It's a BMW = it will not see the drag strip, sorry.

Now, if you want to do highway pulls then by all means, lets do it.

Ah I see. Either way, I do know it's the same unit used in the Supra that's used in BMWs. I was always told Getrag was one of BMWs 'companies.'
