Problem with the rpm is the excess wear on everything. Damn valvetrain has some issues. They don't really come alive till about 6k. I'm seriously contemplating swapping one in my miata though, it just needs a little more grunt.

Lil much for a track car, I rode in a 944 with an ls1 and it was retarded, but he also had 295's on it, I can't really get that kinda rubber under the car nor could the rear end and such handle it.

i rode in a miata with a carb'd 302, c4 tranny w/ shift kit, and a narrowed ford 9". it was geared crazy high, but ran well on the track. suspension setup was a little sloppy coming into the turns because of the extra weight in the front, really needed different springs. but atleast the amount of torque it had would really pull it out good and the high gears and meaty tires kept from breaking traction

I've decided instead of a V8 swap, I want to swap a 4BT into the Jeep when I have enough loot. I was going to wait to see what happened with the motor, but there are 4.0L's out there with 400k miles on them.

I'd rather have 200hp and get 24+ miles per gallon (more than twice what I get now) than have 400hp and get basically the same mileage I get now and pop axles like it's a hobby.
