Re: Western Off Topic
Yeah the 1-2 shift got to where there was a scratch everytime. I'll snap a pic of the synchro later this week when all the parts come in, but it was trashed. I also ordered 3rd because its an occasional problem so while it's apart....Also when I took the countershaft apart there is supposed to be a friction damper in there but I don't have. Looked online and a bunch of people seem to find that out when they have them rebuilt. I guess honda forgot to put them in some of the transmissions
My transmission has developed a 2-3 scratch every time you shift unless you let the revs drop almost to idle.I've already pulled it twice since putting the new engine in to install the LSD and then the final drive swap.I'm really dreading taking it out again,so I'm just going to live with it. I don't get into 2nd gear on track, and I just do the 2-4 shift on the street

Don't feel bad, my box is starting to not enjoy 1-2 so much. The twin disc helped but it's par for the course with the mileage. I've yet to get into an evo box, but I have a feeling it's not far off. Like Martin though, I never do the 1-2 on the track, on the street I just shift at a slightly higher rpm it's a bit smoother. If I'm too low in the rpm on the 2-3 it'll be funky, but I rarely ever shift under 3K anyway.

Ill check it out once everything gets here, thank god for the factory service manual! The 1-2 shift problem started after my foot slipped off the pedal mid shift....should have replaced that clutch pedal cover immediately when it fell off I guess haha. I skipped 2nd for a while, its just a pain in the ass on a car I was using as a DD.

Okay, anybody interested in a track day at Mid-Ohio? ITR Expo Is going to be there this year, and needs more people registered in order to secure the deposit. The event is open to any kind of car, Mid-Ohio is a kickass track and lots of tomfoolery usually ensues at these events. There's plenty of support for anybody new to tracking- tons of very friendly and knowledgeable people. Lots of fun. We'll have a mini-caravan heading out of Roanoke, and we'll hopefully meet up with the Southeast caravan along the way.

All but one part I ordered for my transmission was UPS or USPS. One part was shipped FedEx and of course they had to fuck it up. Since they don't work on Monday I can't get my package until Tuesday now
